Chanyeon
Chanyeon (이찬연, Lee Chan-yeon) is a South Korean singer and member of hard-of-hearing boy group Big Ocean under PARASTAR Entertainment. Born March 27, 1998, he is the oldest member of Big Ocean and the group's main vocalist, with a vocal range that has earned consistent recognition from fans and critics alike.
Chanyeon has been hard of hearing from birth and uses hearing aids to perform. His voice carries a warmth and emotional resonance that sets the tone across Big Ocean's releases. When the group debuted on April 20, 2024 with "Glow," a reimagining of H.O.T.'s classic "Hope," Chanyeon's lead vocal was one of the most discussed elements of the debut. His trajectory with Big Ocean has included the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia recognition in 2025, a TikTok Awards Korea Social Impact Award, and a United Nations stage. On the group's third mini album THE GREATEST BATTLE (March 2026), Chanyeon anchors the emotional core of the record alongside co-writers PJ and Jiseok on "One Man Army."
