Big Ocean
Big Ocean (빅오션) is a South Korean hard-of-hearing boy group under PARASTAR Entertainment, the first idol group in K-pop history where all members have hearing disabilities. The trio consists of Chanyeon, PJ, and Jiseok. Their formation was a direct challenge to an entertainment industry that had never seen disabled performers compete at the idol level.
The group debuted on April 20, 2024, with "Glow," a reimagining of H.O.T.'s classic "Hope" that signaled their intent to honor the past while charting entirely new territory. Three months earlier, they had earned their first Billboard recognition as K-Pop Rookie of the Month (September 2024). Their first mini album Follow (November 2024) entered the Korean charts at No. 41, and the second mini album Underwater (April 2025) matched that position exactly, demonstrating consistent commercial momentum.
The accolades followed quickly. In 2025, Big Ocean were named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list in Entertainment and Sports, making them one of the youngest acts ever to receive the distinction. They received the Social Impact Award at TikTok Awards Korea and performed at the United Nations Development Programme event in New York, speaking to the group's significance beyond chart positions. Their name, adapted from the Korean word "pado" (파도, meaning wave), encapsulates the force they intend to bring.
Their third mini album THE GREATEST BATTLE, released March 3, 2026, marks the most cinematic chapter yet. The album opens with flagship single "One Man Army," co-written by the members themselves, a sweeping declaration of individual strength forged through collective experience. Each member's disability has never been the story; it is the backdrop against which they refuse to be anything less than exceptional.
