Jay Park
Jay Park (박재범, born April 25, 1987, Edmonds, Washington) built K-hip hop from the underground up. A former member of 2PM who parted ways with JYP Entertainment in 2010 after private journal comments about Korea surfaced online, he pivoted from idol pop to raw street-level hip hop and never looked back. He founded AOMG in 2013 and H1ghr Music in 2017, turning both into blueprints for independent Korean rap labels. In 2022, he launched More Vision, his latest enterprise, which now manages Chungha, HolyBang, and Lngshot.
Park has collaborated with Roc Nation and spent years bridging the gap between Korean hip hop and US markets. His 2023-2024 period was prolific: Jay Park Season 1 and Season 2 dropped back-to-back, followed by McNasty (2024) and Jay Park Season 3: Dedicated 2 U (2024). In 2025, he joined Awich, KR$NA, MaSiWei, and VannDa on the pan-Asian hip-hop project Asian State of Mind. With 3.3 million monthly Spotify listeners and a global tour in 2025, he remains one of the most influential figures in K-hip hop, equal parts performer and institution-builder.
