Kim Tae-woo
Kim Tae-woo (김태우), born May 12, 1981, in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, is the main vocalist of g.o.d (지오디) and one of South Korea's most respected ballad singers. The youngest member recruited for the group in July 1998, he debuted with g.o.d in January 1999 under JYP Entertainment. His vocal range and control anchored the group's sound for six years, making him arguably their most recognized singer on hits including Road, One Candle, and To Mother.
After g.o.d went on hiatus in late 2005, Tae-woo signed with a solo agency and began a highly successful career as an R&B ballad artist. He made his solo debut in October 2006 with the special album Solo Special, then enlisted for mandatory military service in March 2007, discharging in February 2009. His post-military comeback was immediate: the 2009 album T-Virus featured the lead single Love Rain (사랑비), which became a lasting favorite on streaming platforms. He has since released seven solo studio albums, cementing a reputation for technically polished ballads.
Beyond recordings, Tae-woo has sung numerous OSTs for award-winning Korean dramas and has performed in musicals. He married Kim Ae-ri in 2011 and has three children. He studied Postmodern Music at Kyung Hee University.
g.o.d reunited in 2014 and Tae-woo has remained an active member since, performing with the group at major sold-out concerts annually through 2025. He manages his schedule between solo releases, g.o.d activities, and musical theater.
