NCT Dream

NCT Dream (엔시티 드림) is the youth sub-unit of NCT under SM Entertainment, debuting August 25, 2016 with "Chewing Gum." Built around a coming-of-age concept, the group settled into a permanent seven-member lineup: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. From their origins as SM's youngest project, NCT Dream became one of K-pop fourth generation's most consistent commercial forces. Hot Sauce (2021) sold over 2 million copies on release week. Glitch Mode (2022) continued the momentum, while ISTJ (2023) became their highest-charting album on the Billboard 200. Dream()scape in March 2024 and its title track "Smoothie" demonstrated growing member ownership of musical direction, with several contributing to lyrics and composition. Dreamscape, released November 2024 as their fourth full-length studio album, expanded the sonic palette with singles "Rains in Heaven," "Flying Kiss," and "When I'm with You." In July 2025, the group released Go Back to the Future, their fifth studio album. In February 2026, members Jeno and Jaemin debuted as the duo NCT JNJM, the first fixed sub-unit configuration in NCT history.

What is the difference between NCT and NCT Dream?
NCT (Neo Culture Technology) is SM Entertainment's multi-unit idol collective. NCT Dream is one of its fixed sub-units, originally designed as the youth unit with a teen-focused concept. Other active units include NCT 127, NCT U, WayV, and NCT Wish. Each unit has its own distinct concept and discography, though members occasionally participate in cross-unit activities.
Who are the members of NCT Dream?
NCT Dream's seven-member lineup consists of Mark Lee (Canadian-Korean, also in NCT 127), Renjun (Chinese), Jeno, Haechan (also in NCT 127), Jaemin, Chenle (Chinese), and Jisung. The group originally featured other NCT members under a graduation system before SM fixed the current lineup in 2020.
Why was the NCT Dream graduation policy abolished?
NCT Dream debuted in 2016 with a policy that members would graduate the unit when they turned 20. As the original lineup grew a significant fanbase and commercial momentum, SM Entertainment formally ended the graduation system in April 2020, locking in the permanent lineup. This shift allowed the group to develop long-term as a stable act rather than a rotating youth project.
What are NCT Dream's biggest albums?
NCT Dream's standout releases include Hot Sauce (2021, first full studio album, over 2 million first-week copies), Glitch Mode (2022, another million-seller), ISTJ (2023, their highest-charting album on the Billboard 200), and Dream()scape (2024). Their holiday track "Candy" (2022, a cover of H.O.T's 1996 original) became a recurring chart re-entry across multiple seasons.
What is The Dream Show?
The Dream Show is NCT Dream's concert series, spanning multiple editions since 2018. It has expanded to major arenas across Asia, North America, and Europe. Each edition is known for elaborate staging, high-energy choreography, and multi-section setlists. The franchise has played to cumulative audiences in the hundreds of thousands globally and has become one of SM Entertainment's anchor live properties.
