NCT JNJM Debut with BOTH SIDES: Jeno and Jaemin Arrive as One
NCT Dream duo Jeno and Jaemin officially debut as NCT JNJM with their first mini album BOTH SIDES, a six-track set spanning hip-hop, R&B, and hyperpop.

NCT JNJM (엔시티 제노재민) arrived February 23, 2026, and they made the wait worth it. Jeno (Lee Jeno) and Jaemin (Na Jaemin), two of NCT Dream's most charismatic performers, officially debut as NCT's first-ever permanent duo sub-unit with BOTH SIDES, a six-track mini album that earns every bit of the anticipation behind it.
Ten years of shared training, two parallel careers, and one undeniable creative chemistry. That is the foundation of NCT JNJM, and BOTH SIDES is the document proving it was always going to sound like this.
The Title Track Sets the Tone Immediately
The lead single "BOTH SIDES" is a glossy hip-hop anthem built on fluid drum work, clean rap verses, and sharp vocal interplay. The premise is almost disarmingly simple: a woman asks which side of them is better. The answer is both. The confidence is effortless, never forced, and that balance carries across the full record.
The music video leans into the dynamic hard. Jeno and Jaemin peacock through a luxury hotel in fur coats, competing for the attention of a mystery woman through increasingly theatrical displays of charm, dancing, and sheer presence. It is slick, self-aware, and exactly the kind of debut statement SM Entertainment knows how to execute at scale.
"Many may have been expecting a bold and strong concept for us two as a sub-unit. But we chose this because it has a novel ambience we have not shown with NCT, and also because it is easy on the ears," Jeno said in an interview with The Korea Herald.
Jaemin added: "This, we believe, is the perfect song to show our identity and direction as a duo."
Six Tracks, Six Different Arguments
What makes BOTH SIDES worth revisiting is how deliberately each track makes a different case for the duo. The record does not settle into one lane.
"I.D.O.L." runs uptempo on Miami bass-inspired 808 kicks, with both members rapping with the kind of free-spirited confidence that only comes from knowing exactly who you are on stage. "What It Is" is the emotional centerpiece, an R&B track written by Jaemin himself, where contrasting vocal textures and subtle arrangements replace all the flash. It is the record's quietest and most revealing moment.
"HASHTAG" arrives with Southern hip-hop undertones from the late 2000s, and it works without irony. "WIND UP" goes bouncy and encouraging, using baseball metaphors to land something genuinely motivating. The closer, "sexier," bursts into hyperpop territory, all catchy synths and dance-ready energy, and ends the album on a high that makes you want to restart it.
Why This Sub-Unit Makes Sense Now
NCT has always operated as a modular system. Different units, different concepts, different sounds. But NCT JNJM is different in one key way: this is the franchise's first permanent duo unit. Not a temporary project, not a one-off collaboration. A formal, ongoing creative partnership.
Jeno and Jaemin have been NCT Dream members since the unit's earliest days, building a reputation as two of the group's most stage-commanding performers. Individually, both are known for their precision in performance and their distinct presences. Together, those qualities amplify each other in ways BOTH SIDES captures cleanly.
SM Entertainment confirmed the unit in January 2026, with the debut date set for February 23. Fan response ahead of release was significant, and the album has been warmly received since its release.
What Comes Next
NCT JNJM is not a side project to be wrapped up and filed away. With a permanent unit status and a debut EP that covers hip-hop, R&B, hyperpop, and Southern rap across six tracks, the duo has outlined a creative range wide enough to sustain a long-term run.
The next question is where they go from here. More NCT Dream activity remains expected through 2026, but JNJM's positioning as a standalone unit suggests dedicated releases and promotional cycles going forward. For now, BOTH SIDES is the statement. It is a confident one.
