Rosé
Rosé (로제), born Roseanne Park on February 11, 1997, has one of the most instantly recognizable voices in Korean pop. Raised in Melbourne after being born in Auckland, she entered YG Entertainment through its 2012 Australia audition and debuted with BLACKPINK in 2016. From the start, her role was bigger than main-vocal duty. She gave the group a dramatic emotional center that could cut through even its loudest productions.
Her solo catalog has worked because it leans into that voice instead of fighting it. "On the Ground" made her the first K-pop soloist to top the Billboard Global 200 in 2021. Then "APT." with Bruno Mars broke far outside the usual K-pop lane in late 2024, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming one of the most commercially dominant global singles tied to a Korean female soloist. Her debut studio album Rosie followed through on that scale, turning Rosé from a member with strong individual pull into a standalone global pop force.
The business structure around that run matters too. Rosé signed with THE BLACK LABEL and Atlantic Records in 2024 while continuing BLACKPINK group work. At the same time, Saint Laurent, Tiffany & Co., and other premium partners kept her at the top of fashion's ambassador economy. The result is a career that now moves cleanly across chart pop, K-pop fandom, and luxury image-building without needing to choose only one of them.
