Ryujin

Ryujin (류진), born Shin Ryu-jin (신류진) on April 17, 2001, is the main rapper, lead dancer, and center of ITZY under JYP Entertainment. Few fourth-generation idols established a stage identity as quickly as she did. From the moment ITZY debuted with Dalla Dalla in February 2019, Ryujin read like the member who could cut through a frame with almost no wasted movement. Her style has always been clean rather than overloaded, which is exactly why it lands so hard.

Before debut, Ryujin was already building the outline of that reputation. She was discovered by JYP at a GOT7 event, trained through the late-2010s trainee pipeline, competed on MixNine, and made an early screen appearance in The King. Once ITZY launched, she became one of the clearest examples of a center who can balance charisma and control at the same time. That balance carried through the group's biggest records, global touring, and solo-facing moments like Studio Choom's Artist of the Month.

Her solo work inside ITZY has pushed that identity further. Ryujin co-wrote and co-composed Run Away, her track from Born to Be, and used it to show a more inward tone than the group's full-power title-track lane usually allows. Fashion and beauty brands have also treated her as more than an idol booking, with campaigns and editorials that lean into her stripped-back cool rather than forcing a louder persona. By 2026, with Night on Earth adding a film credit to the résumé, Ryujin sits in a rare spot: she is already one of ITZY's defining performers, and her individual lane still feels like it has room to widen.
