Solar (솔라), born Kim Yong-sun on February 21, 1991, is a South Korean singer and leader of MAMAMOO. One of K-pop's most commanding vocalists, she brings a rare combination of technical power and theatrical charisma to every performance, with a vocal range that stretches from rich lows to soaring highs without losing warmth or control.
She debuted with MAMAMOO under RBW Entertainment on June 18, 2014, and launched her solo career on April 23, 2020 with the single "Spit It Out." Her YouTube channel solarsido, blending music content with candid personality, has grown to over three million subscribers and offers fans a window into the artist beyond the stage persona.
In March 2026, Solar released "Your Own Star" (總有一顆屬於你的星球), a sweeping emotional ballad co-written with Taiwanese indie band Accusefive. The collaboration marked a significant bridge between K-pop and the Taiwanese indie music scene, with Solar and Pan Yun-an co-composing the track and sharing equal creative credit.
