Tzuyu
Chou Tzu-yu (周子瑜), known professionally as Tzuyu, is a Taiwanese singer and dancer. Born on June 14, 1999 in Tainan, Taiwan, she joined JYP Entertainment at age 13 and debuted as the youngest member of TWICE in October 2015. In 2016, she became the center of an international political incident after holding a Taiwanese flag on television, which drew backlash from Chinese netizens and became known as the Tzuyu Incident. The controversy briefly impacted Taiwan's presidential election.
After nearly a decade with the group, Tzuyu launched her solo career in September 2024 with the EP abouTZU, which debuted at No. 3 on the Circle Album Chart and No. 19 on the Billboard 200. The title track "Run Away" was written by Park Jin-young and showcased a mature synth-pop sound. She became the third TWICE member to debut solo, following Nayeon and Jihyo. In September 2025, she released "Blink" with Corbyn Besson.
Tzuyu has accumulated numerous brand partnerships, including global ambassador for Pond's (2023), muse for Japan's Visee cosmetics (2022), and brand ambassador for 7-Eleven Taiwan (2026). She surpassed Jay Chou in 2023 to become the most-followed Taiwanese celebrity on Instagram. In 2024, she completed a master's degree in applied psychology from Miguel de Cervantes European University in Spain.
