Yoo Yeonjung
Yoo Yeonjung (유연정), born August 3, 1999, in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, is the maknae of WJSN and the member who arrived through the highest-pressure possible route into the group: finishing 11th, and last, in the final ranking of Mnet's Produce 101 Season 1 with 136,780 votes. That single placement made her a member of I.O.I (아이오아이), the eleven-member project group formed from the show's results, which debuted on May 4, 2016 with the mini-album "Chrysalis" under YMC Entertainment.
While still promoting with I.O.I, Yoonjung was simultaneously preparing to join WJSN under Starship Entertainment and Yuehua Entertainment, the group that had already debuted without her in February 2016 while she was locked into the Produce 101 competition. She officially joined WJSN after I.O.I concluded its activities in January 2017, stepping into a group that was mid-momentum without having shared the debut experience with the other members. The integration became one of the more closely watched dynamics in WJSN's early fandom.
Yeonjung attended Dankook University through its rolling admission process in 2017, entering the musical theatre program of the Performance and Film Department. She has since maintained a consistent profile as WJSN's vocalist, contributing to the group's discography across its full studio run. Her official Instagram is @uyj_s.
