Yoonchae Jeung

Yoonchae Jeung (정윤채) is the youngest member of KATSEYE and the group's sole Korean representative. Born on December 6, 2007, in Seoul, South Korea, she passed auditions for CJ E&M at just 13 years old before entering The Debut: Dream Academy, where she finished fourth and secured her spot in the final lineup. As the group's maknae, Yoonchae brings a trained K-pop sensibility to KATSEYE's otherwise Western-leaning roster. She has cited BTS as the reason she pursued a career in the industry. Her representative color is pink and her signature charm is the Soothing Shell. She is known for her precision in choreography and serves as a grounding presence across the six-member lineup. KATSEYE's debut year was marked by the viral Netflix documentary Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE and the debut single "Debut" from their EP SIS (Soft Is Strong). In 2025, the group released Beautiful Chaos, which debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 -- their highest-charting release to date. The lead single "Gabriela" peaked within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. In November 2025, KATSEYE was nominated for Best New Artist at the 68th Grammy Awards, making Yoonchae the youngest Korean artist ever nominated for a Grammy Award. The group followed with "Internet Girl" in early 2026. Through KATSEYE, Yoonchae continues to bridge rigorous K-pop training culture with global pop ambitions.
