Brain Candy Books

Brain Candy Books is the high-interest nonfiction imprint Capstone launched in August 2025 to pull kids back toward reading by borrowing the velocity of short-form media. The line is built around facts, lists, quizzes, photos, infographics, and other quick-hit formats that feel browsable instead of homework-heavy.

Capstone did not position the imprint as a side experiment. The launch came with 25 titles across five core series: Your Favorite Stars, Would You Rather?, Fact Frenzy, Info Fanatic, and Sports Illustrated Kids: Everything Sports Almanacs. The company framed the line as a direct answer to falling reading-for-fun habits and shrinking reading stamina, then extended the push with additional 2026 series including Next Level Video Game Trivia, Sports Illustrated Kids: Would You Rather?, and LOL Brain Busters.

The imprint crossed into pop-culture conversation when Jungkook of BTS was lined up for a Your Favorite Stars volume, giving Brain Candy a clean K-pop bridge without changing its classroom-first identity. It is still educational publishing. It just understands packaging, pacing, and the attention economy much better than most legacy reading programs.
