ZEROBASEONE (제로베이스원) leader Sung Han-bin (성한빈) has made K-pop history twice in the same week. CJ ENM has named him the inaugural KCON Global Ambassador in the festival's 14-year history, while Swarovski Korea simultaneously appointed him as their brand ambassador. Back-to-back announcements, two of the industry's most coveted titles, and ZEROBASEONE's world tour finale still weeks away. The moment for Sung Han-bin has arrived.

History Made: The First KCON Global Ambassador

Since KCON launched in Irvine, California in 2012, the festival has grown into the world's largest K-pop fan and artist event, touring 14 regions across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas with a cumulative offline audience approaching 2.23 million. In all that time, no single artist had ever been appointed as a global ambassador. Until now.

CJ ENM officially announced Sung Han-bin as the inaugural KCON Global Ambassador, describing his role as a "guide and storyteller who communicates the identity and core values of KCON" as a global platform where fans experience K-lifestyle across music, beauty, food, content, and global trends.

The appointment carries real weight. Sung Han-bin has a documented history as an MC, with credits on Mnet's M COUNTDOWN and major award shows, giving him the hosting credentials to represent the festival on its biggest stages. His debut is significant too: KSPO Dome in Seoul at KCON 2023 was where ZEROBASEONE first performed for their global fanbase.

"KCON marks a pivotal turning point in my life, as it was the very first stage where ZEROBASEONE performed for our global fans," said Sung Han-bin in the official KCON announcement. "I am grateful to be named the first ambassador for the festival where ZEROBASEONE first connected with audiences. I will do my utmost to create another unforgettable chapter, bringing people together across generations and tastes to experience Korean culture and global trends."

The KCON 2026 Calendar

As Global Ambassador, Sung Han-bin is confirmed to appear at both flagship KCON events this year. KCON JAPAN 2026 runs May 8 to 10 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture. KCON LA 2026 follows August 14 to 16 in Los Angeles. ZEROBASEONE has also joined the KCON JAPAN 2026 artist lineup, meaning Sung Han-bin will represent both the festival itself and his group on the same stage.

The group brings serious numbers into that room. Since their 2023 debut, ZEROBASEONE became the first fifth-generation K-pop act to achieve million-seller status with six consecutive albums, surpassing 9 million in cumulative album sales.

Swarovski Korea: Cross-Industry Reach

The KCON announcement landed alongside a separate appointment. Swarovski Korea named Sung Han-bin as their brand ambassador in February 2026, releasing a White Day-themed campaign shoot to mark the collaboration. The Austrian crystal and lifestyle brand positions itself around contemporary luxury, and the pairing signals a deliberate push into the fashion and lifestyle space for Sung Han-bin beyond his music career.

This is not his first foray into brand partnerships. Since 2024, Sung Han-bin has participated in multiple events hosted by Gucci and Swarovski, building a track record with premium brands before the formal ambassador appointment. The dual announcement in the same week, however, is the clearest signal yet that his individual brand value has reached a new tier.

What's Next

Before either KCON date, ZEROBASEONE closes out their 2026 World Tour [HERE&NOW] ENCORE at KSPO Dome in Seoul on March 13 to 15. The three-night finale at one of Korea's premier indoor venues caps a world tour that took the group across multiple continents.

After that, the timeline leads directly into KCON JAPAN in May. Sung Han-bin moves from headlining his own group's world tour finale to representing the global face of the K-culture festival that launched it all. The symmetry is not lost.
