HUNTR/X

HUNTR/X (헌트릭스) is the fictional K-pop girl group at the center of Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation's blockbuster KPop Demon Hunters (2025). The trio of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey blend high-concept K-pop spectacle with actual demon-hunting responsibilities, making them one of the most unlikely pop phenomena of the decade. Their soundtrack broke records few real groups have matched. Flagship single "Golden" topped the Billboard Hot 100, went diamond in South Korea, and earned five Grammy nominations including Song of the Year. At peak, all four songs from the OST held simultaneous Top 10 positions on the Hot 100. Alongside "Golden," the soundtrack featured "How It's Done" (produced by BLACKPINK's TEDDY), the TWICE collaboration battle anthem "Takedown," and the emotional ballad "Free." The singing voices behind the animation are real artists: EJAE (Rumi, main vocal and leader), Audrey Nuna (Mira, main dancer), and Rei Ami (Zoey, lead rapper and visual). All three performed "Golden" live at the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards in London, dressed in shades of red, brown, and gold, marking the first international live performance of the track. The film was ineligible for a BAFTA nomination but performed anyway, leaving the audience genuinely unsure how to process the moment. HUNTR/X was created for the film by directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. KPop Demon Hunters premiered on Netflix on June 20, 2025, and its cultural footprint expanded well beyond what animated features typically reach.
