Sarah Yeeun Lee (이예은; born May 25, 1995 in Seoul, South Korea), known professionally as REI AMI (pronounced RAY-AH-mee), is a South Korean singer-songwriter and rapper raised in Germantown, Maryland. At age six, her family relocated from Seoul to the United States, where she would graduate from Northwest High School in 2014 and from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018, working a Live Nation internship along the way. She broke through with a feature on Sub Urban's 2020 song "Freak," which went viral on TikTok and peaked at number 28 on the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs. Her debut single was "Snowcone" (2019), followed by the Foil mixtape (June 2021) and the Shhh EP (November 2023), the latter earning a Grammy Award nomination alongside nominations for Best International New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Her self-styled genre tag is #REIPOP, blending alt-pop, rap, R&B, and indie instincts in a way that resists easy categorization. In 2025, REI AMI voiced the character Zoey in the animated film KPop Demon Hunters, with her contribution to the Huntrix track "Golden" topping the Billboard Hot 100. The film's success broadened her profile significantly beyond the K-pop-adjacent lane she had occupied. Signed to Visionary Records and Republic Records, she maintains an active touring and convention presence, appearing at events including Anime NYC 2025.
