Jihyo

Park Ji-hyo (박지효), known as Jihyo, is the leader and main vocalist of TWICE, formed by JYP Entertainment through the 2015 survival show Sixteen. Born February 1, 1997, in Guri, South Korea, she trained at JYP for ten years before debuting -- the longest trainee period of any TWICE member and one of the lengthiest recorded in a major K-pop agency. She joined JYP at age eight after placing second in a Junior Naver child star contest; SM Entertainment had initially scouted her, but she followed her scouting contact to JYP after a year of training. Voted leader by TWICE members through anonymous ballot before debut, Jihyo has defined the group's vocal identity across 11 studio albums and multiple world tours since 2015. Her voice -- a powerful, textured instrument capable of both belting and precise control -- anchors TWICE's live performances and is consistently cited among the strongest of her generation. In August 2023, she launched her solo career with the debut mini-album ZONE, led by the single Killin Me Good. The EP debuted at number one on the Circle Album Chart in South Korea with 584,225 copies sold in its first week and charted at number 14 on the Billboard 200 in the United States. She co-wrote and co-composed the majority of its seven tracks. The following month she released Killin Me Good (English Version) and TALKIN ABOUT IT, a collaboration with rapper 24kGoldn. In June 2025, she contributed New Days to the Marry My Husband OST Part 2. She also contributed vocals to TAKEDOWN on the KPop Demon Hunters OST alongside Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung. As both group leader and developing soloist, Jihyo holds one of the most consequential creative roles in JYP's artist roster.
