GOT7
GOT7 (갓세븐) built its name on movement: martial-arts-inflected performance, multilingual songwriting, and a lineup that stretched across Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the United States long before global K-pop strategy became standard. JYP Entertainment debuted the seven-member group in January 2014, but the bigger story is how JAY B, Mark, Jackson Wang, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom kept the group alive after the label chapter ended.
That post-2021 survival matters. Instead of letting seven separate agencies dissolve the brand, GOT7 used Encore as proof of concept, then partnered with Warner Music Korea for the 2022 self-titled release and worked with Kakao Entertainment on the 2025 mini album WINTER HEPTAGON. Kakao also backed the 2025 NESTFEST concert rollout, giving the group its first full-scale solo show in six years.
The catalog still does the heavy lifting. Got It?, Identify, 7 for 7, Eyes On You, Call My Name, DYE, and WINTER HEPTAGON map a group that could pivot from elastic pop to darker R&B without losing its center. In K-pop history, GOT7 matters less as a nostalgia act than as one of the cleanest examples of a major-group identity surviving beyond its original contract structure.
